"When you walk into The Well Red Coyote, it's immediately
apparent that the owners have a deep love of books. This is
a store with real heart. The wide variety of books is perfectly
displayed to ease your quest for the right book to satisfy
your need to read. The store itself is quiet, comfortable
and inviting. Browsing the books is half the fun. There are
also wonderful gift items for sale. For me, a previous resident
of Los Angeles, The Well Red Coyote provides the perfect mixture
of small-town hospitality and just the right amount of the
cosmopolitan appeal of the "big city." I am deeply
appreciative, too, of the fact that they are one of the only
book stores in the area that is truly supportive of local
authors. My only problem during my book signing events has
been not buying everything in the store! Thank you, Joe and
Kris!"
Summer Bacon, Author & Trance Medium
"To
enter the Neri's Well Red Coyote is to cross the threshold
into an intimate oasis of words that when pondered and tasted
could save us from oblivion - the plays of Shakespeare, the
poetry of Whitman, the essays of Thoreau and Stegner. Laws
may die but books never do."
James Bishop, Jr., Author & Poet
"I
come from a large city, where small independent book stores
have rapidly been eaten up and spit out by the big operations
- you know who I mean. I was fortunate to grow up in a time
when the independent bookstore was the rule, not the exception.
These stores provided not only books, but time, knowledge,
some-times a place to hide from the world, sometimes a place
of solace and comfort. To be honest, I haven't had the privilege
of being in one of these bookstores in years. A little over
a year ago, The Well Red Coyote opened its doors in West Sedona,
and I was thrilled. Co-owners Kris and Joe Neri know how to
make this place a hub of activity for the community - offering
workshops, special events, music and readings, all on top
of a fantastic stock of books (or knowledge of how to get
what you need and the willingness to do so). To my mind, this
is Sedona's ONLY real bookstore!"
Rochelle Brener, Poet, Poetry Coach & Publisher
"The
Well Red Coyote has filled a huge void in Sedona. Kris and
Joe opened their doors and their hearts to our community,
being such gracious hosts that everyone who walks into their
store feels like an old friend. For book lovers, writers and
people just browsing, their store provides the perfect space
to get lost in the beauty of words."
Karen Ely, President, A Woman's Way
"Between
its wide range of events, thoughtful selection of books, and
the friendliness of the owners and staff, the Well Red Coyote
has established
itself as a cornerstone of Sedona's community."
James Endredy, Author, Mentor, Teacher & Guide
"One or two sentences to describe The Well Red Coyote?
It can't be done. It's my favorite bookstore, not only in
Sedona, but anywhere! Well-organized, neat, spacious, attractive,
Coyote, you have my vote! Kris and Joe knock themselves out
for you too."
Gene Garrison, Author, Photographer & Artist
"In
addition to stocking a wide selection of books for all interests,
Sedona's Well Red Coyote bookstore is a haven for writers
of all genres, a forum for poets and other creative people
to share their work, hear presentations--and participate in
book signings--by published authors. The Well Red Coyote is
truly a writer's, as well as a reader's, resource and retreat--seven
days a week."
Willma Gore, Author & Writing Instructor
"The
Well Red Coyote has provided us with great reading, great
attention and great suggestions! We appreciate your weekly
emails announcing the newest books arriving and all the upcoming
events. Thanks for choosing Sedona to be your home and the
home of The Well Red Coyote. We're so grateful to have a bookstore
of this caliber. We love having you in the neighborhood."

"When Joe and Kris Neri brought The Well Red Coyote
to Sedona, they also
brought along an appreciation for the uniqueness of our community
and a com-mitment to serve its bookstore needs in the fullest
sense. They not only respond to, but anticipate, readers'
expectations--by keeping up with new publications, constantly
expanding their well-rounded inventory, and providing a venue
for showcasing notable visiting and local writers. Accolades
to The Well Red Coyote!"
Mary Heyborne, Poet & Potter
"The
Well Red Coyote bookshop is more than just a place where books
are sold. It's a place that emphasizes the importance of books
and the connection be-tween literacy and cultural vitality.
The Well Red Coyote has a rich program of activities, including
book presentations, poetry readings and writers' workshops.
And a monthly Open Mic session where writers - professionals,
aspiring or hob-byists like me - can read and get reactions
to our work. Joe and Kris Neri are obvious lovers of literature
and are devoted to promulgating that zeal in the community."
David Kanowsky, Author & Film Critic
"The
Well Red Coyote bookstore is what a bookstore should be. Not
only a place to purchase what you read, but it is also an
active community of book lovers in all forms. It is truly
a haven for book lovers, writers, and more."
David Keeber, Director, Sedona Public Library
"Since
its inception, The Well Red Coyote bookstore has opened more
than its doors to eager booklovers - it has become a great
proponent for community building. Joe and Kris Neri exemplify
what it means to offer our hearts up to a community, to share
our passions and wisdom. Joe and Kris are our best friends.
Stop in and introduce yourself. Beyond all the words in their
bookstore, you will find the reason why this community
needs more people like Joe and Kris."
Christopher Lane, Executive Director NORAZ Poets
"A
community needs a good bookstore and this one really is."

quiet place where you can find your loved books. Readers will

I visit the Well Red Coyote bookstore, I always run into someone
I know or someone interesting who wants to talk about my books

Well Red Coyote is a true community bookstore: knowledgeable
owners who are service-oriented, book signings and readings
always going on, and a stimulating, fun environment to savor
the spoken word."
