Energy Talk: The Energetic
Impact of Trauma & Abuse on the Body- Mind
Saturday, July 10, 2 pm: Join Sedona
energy healer, David Lowell, author of
THE STRUGGLE TO SURRENDER: LOVE, CONSCIOUSNESS
AND THE QUANTUM FIELD, for a talk on the effect of trauma and
abuse on the mind and body. Many, if not most of us, have been impacted
by trauma in some form or another. Any event, or series of events,
either real or imagined, which causes significant distress to the
body-mind and which the person perceives they are unable to escape
or control can be traumatic. The impact of a particular trauma, or
series of traumas, and its unwinding depends upon many factors, including
Karma, both of the Soul as well as the body.
THE STRUGGLE TO SURRENDER is a journey
into the world of secular spirituality. Bypassing traditional religions
it is nonetheless deeply rooted in the wisdom left behind by those
who inspired them. It is also the story of a quest. It is the quest
for the key to surrender. It is not just the how of it, but also the
what. What is it that one surrenders to? Who/what exactly is God,
and how do we create a rapport with this great unknown?
David Lowell has been involved with energy and healing for 30 years
and has maintained a professional practice for 17. He conducts seminars
and healing workshops in Sedona and various other locations. |

Personal Growth Talk:
Transcending the Difficult People in Life
Friday, July 16, 7 pm: Yavapai College
instructor, Dr. Karly Way, author of
BRIDGES: MAKING MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS,
will present an overview of strategies on how to deal with that “difficult
person” in your life -- the one who pushes your buttons, who
“just doesn’t get it,” the one who did you wrong.
What do you do, how do you cope, how do you stop getting so frustrated
(and actually be able to have a conversation)?! This talk is based
on the Zen philosophy in Karly’s book, BRIDGES:
MAKING MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS.
Karly Way, Ph.D. didn’t intend
to write a book on interpersonal communication when she began teaching
a course on the subject several years ago. The process began to unfold
as she found herself elaborating on and “correcting” the
presentation of many psychological and sociological theories in the
communication texts that she was using.
Karly was pursuing a 500-hour certification in Advanced Studies/Yoga
Teacher Training when she began writing BRIDGES:
MAKING MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS. As she observes, “One
informed the other -- my interpersonal communication book includes
many insights from yoga philosophy.” Such insights include cultivating
an awareness of our negative mental habits, perceptions, and counterproductive
expectations, as well as the ability to relax with what is. She also
finds that the Zen principle of learning to be “in the moment,”
instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future is infinitely
helpful in communication.

a scattered state of mind,” she says, “generating stress
and feelings of being overwhelmed.” |

Personal Growth Talk:
The Journey from Fear to Freedom
Saturday, July 17, 2pm: Join local author,
Sarah Naylor, author of CROSSING
ROUGH WATERS – JOURNEY FROM FEAR TO FREEDOM, for a discussion
of how you can leave your fears behind. CROSSING
ROUGH WATERS – JOURNEY FROM FEAR TO FREEDOM is more than
a self-help or motivational book. It has been described as a wisdom
guide.
Sarah was challenged by a woman she had only met once to share her
story. Jo’s message to her was, “When you have crossed
the rough waters of life and have made it to the other side of the
river with your back still straight, you have a responsibility to
God to tell others about the journey.”
Sarah shares how she was able to achieve fulfillment, self-confidence,
and identify her life purpose by challenging herself to release deeply
embedded fear and pain caused by years of physical and emotional abuse.
Join Sarah for a discussion about crossing the rough waters of life
and getting to the other side of the river where you’ll find
that life holds more hope, joy, and peace.
SARAH PAYNE NAYLOR is a veteran life and career coach who helps
clients identify their God-given gifts and talents which will set
them on a path to realize their goals and vision for a successful
future. |
