Say the Darndest Things: Are You Listening? You CAN Hear Your Dog!
Saturday, April 3, 2 pm: Popular Sedona
animal communicator, Maia Kincaid, returns
to The Well Red Coyote to discuss her new book, DOGS
SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS: ARE YOU LISTENING? AN ANIMAL COMMUNICATOR
DIALOGS WITH DOGS.
Have you ever wondered what your dog might say to us if you were to
listen?
When author Maia Kincaid, Ph.D. paused
for a few moments to listen years ago she was amazed to hear the voices
of the animals around her, and she naturally began a new career based
on the gift she discovered.
In her new book, DOGS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS:
ARE YOU LISTENING?, she shares the most fascinating conversations
with dogs and insight into the awakening of your own natural listening
abilities. It is her belief that all humans possess the gift she has
discovered, and her mission to help fellow humans become aware of
their ability to hear their dogs and to converse with all the life
around them. Join Maia, as she offers practical guidance to enhance
your own listening skills.
Through her many years specializing in animal communication, Maia
has gathered fascinating dialogues shared for the very first time
in her new books available at The Well Red Coyote Bookstore: BEING
HUMAN AND LOVING LIFE, LEARNING TO LOVE:
FROM THE WISE COUNSEL OF PLANTS, ANIMALS, INSECTS AND THE EARTH
and THE JOY OF BEING HUMAN. |

Spirituality Talk:
Can You Go Beyond Religion In Your Own Personal Way?
Friday, April 9, 7 pm: As more people
find themselves questioning or actually leaving religions of their
youth and adult life, Barbara Mayer,
author of BEYOND RELIGION, provides
answers and guidance for moving ahead on one’s own more personal
spiritual path – either still within institutionalized religion
or beyond any singular religious belief.
In this lively talk, Barbara will address the reasons why so many
people are leaving organized religions, and she'll explain concepts
such as the Bifurcation Point, which she believes has led the human
species to a Point of No Return in religion as well as in today’s
society. She'll also present various religion’s concept of
“God” and newer ways to look at the life and meaning
of Jesus. She'll also mention the spiritual beliefs of eastern religions
beyond the Judeo-Christian culture and offer ways an individual
can move ahead to a fuller and more meaningful life, either still
within – or beyond – any particular religious belief
system.
In BEYOND RELIGION, in a reader-friendly
style, former nun Barbara Mayer offers hope and meaning for moving
beyond patriarchal religious dictates. Topics include the current
rise of feminine spiritual energy, understanding one’s religious
roots, new perspectives on the historical Jesus and the Christ Mind,
greater understanding of world religions, the Quantum Factor and
non-linear thought, as well as meditation, healing and wholeness.
With rising consciousness demanding more answers in today’s
chaotic world, this book offers clear ideas for attaining a more
meaningful life. BEYOND RELIGION is
the perfect guide for those ready to move beyond blind faith and
religion by rote.
From her early days as a singing nun, through years has a teacher,
then editor of a Midwestern newspaper, Barbara Mayer has followed
a lifelong spiritual path. After thirteen years in the convent,
she has remained dedicated to finding truth beyond teachings of
patriarchal hierarchies and self-styled religious pundits. Considering
many universal beliefs of world religions and rising consciousness
in today’s Axial Age, she promotes personal encounter with
the God Source. Barbara Mayer is a
spiritual facilitator, meditation guide, Reiki Master and poet. |

WRC 5th Anniversary
Event: 10% discount on all books on Saturday, April 17 in honor
of our 5th Anniversary!
One Book Arizona Read: Arizonans have voted and chosen
the one book they want to read in 2010! Let's discuss and celebrate
it!
NOTE UNUSUAL STARTING TIME - TO ACCOMODATE JANA'S SCHEDULE,
WE'LL BE STARTING THIS PROGRAM AT 3 PM
Saturday, April 17, 3 pm
: Join Arizona author, Jana Bommersbach
as she shares insights into her true crime book, the One Book Arizona
Read for 2010, THE TRUNK MURDERESS: WINNIE
RUTH JUDD.
If history is right, a 26 year-old beauty named Winnie Ruth Judd
murdered her two best girlfriends one hot Phoenix night in 1931.
Then she hacked up their bodies, stuffed the pieces into a trunk,
and took them by train to Los Angeles as her baggage. If history
is right, she was sentenced to die but “cheated the gallows”
by acting insane. She spent nearly 40 years in Arizona's insane
asylum-flummoxing officials by escaping six times. If history is
right, she only got her freedom at age 66-after serving more time
than any other convicted murderer in the history of the nation --
because Arizona was finally tired of punishing her. But if history
is wrong, Winnie Ruth Judd's life was squandered in a horrible miscarriage
of justice.
Award-winning journalist Jana Bommersbach
reinvestigates the twisted, bizarre murder case that has captivated
the nation for decades. She not only uncovers evidence long hidden,
but gets Winnie Ruth Judd to break her life-long silence and finally
speak.
In telling the story of this American crime legend, Bommersbach
also tells the story of Phoenix, Arizona-a backwater town that would
become a major American city-and the story of a unique moment in
American history filled with social taboos. But most of all, she
tells the story of a woman with the courage to survive.
Jana Bommersbach is one of Arizona's
most respected and acclaimed journalists. She has earned numerous
national, state and regional awards, including the prestigious Don
Bolles Award for investigative reporting for the newspaper series
on Winnie Ruth Judd that led to this book. She is always a popular
speaker in Sedona, so come early for a good seat. . |
